Best Star Wars movies and shows

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith wins 81% of its duels and tops the Star Wars ranking ahead of Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

A 186-point ELO chasm separates Episode III from The Clone Wars in second place, the widest gap in the entire ranking. The original trilogy's Empire Strikes Back sits only fifth with 1354 points, while Return of the Jedi claims third at 1375, squeezed between the animated series and Rogue One. The prequel trilogy's final chapter commanding the top spot signals a shift in how fans weigh spectacle and narrative closure against the beloved classics. At the bottom, The Acolyte languishes at rank 21 with 998 points, while Star Wars: Visions anchors the list at 914 points after 806 duels, revealing which projects failed to resonate with this community.

This ranking draws from 11810 duels cast by 162 players across 22 Star Wars projects, updated on 10 October 2026. The data captures not just nostalgic affection but active preference: when forced to choose between two entries, voters consistently elevated Revenge of the Sith above every challenger. Whether you champion the operatic tragedy of the prequels or the gritty authenticity of Rogue One, your vote reshapes these standings. Add your duels to the count and see if your favorite can crack the top five or dethrone the reigning champion.

How this ranking is computed

Every duel won lifts a contender and every loss drops them, by an amount that depends on the opponent's strength: beating the leader is worth more than beating the last. It is an ELO, the same principle as in chess. Duels are not drawn at random — an adaptive entropy sort puts the least predictable match-ups first, which settles the ranking far faster than a full round robin. A worldwide ranking is only published past 30 completed plays. Known limit: a contender who has faced few opponents keeps an approximate score, and the bottom of the table moves more than the podium.
