Best super mario movie posters

2471 duels later, Main is still #1 in The Super Mario Bros. Movie ranking, with Peach 2 close behind.

Main tops the ranking with 1354 ELO points, winning 65% of its duels across 167 matchups. Peach 2 follows at rank 2 with 1311 ELO points and a 64% win rate, demonstrating similar voter appeal. The sharpest drop appears between these two leaders and the rest of the field: 58 ELO points separate Peach 2 from Toad at rank 3, marking a clear divide in community preference. Toad holds 1253 ELO points with a 59% win rate over 180 duels. The middle ranks cluster tightly, with Luigi 2 and Mario 2 occupying ranks 4 and 5, separated by a single ELO point at 1216 and 1215 respectively. At the bottom, Donkey Kong trails at rank 10 with just 1001 ELO points and a 25% win rate across 142 duels, suggesting this poster struggles to connect with voters who favor the character-driven alternatives higher up the list.

The ranking draws on 2471 duels submitted by 116 players across 10 contenders, updated on 10 October 2026. Whether you favor the boldness of Main or the individual character posters, the vote remains open. Head to VAINKEURZ to cast your duels and shape the ranking.

How this ranking is computed

Every duel won lifts a contender and every loss drops them, by an amount that depends on the opponent's strength: beating the leader is worth more than beating the last. It is an ELO, the same principle as in chess. Duels are not drawn at random — an adaptive entropy sort puts the least predictable match-ups first, which settles the ranking far faster than a full round robin. A worldwide ranking is only published past 30 completed plays. Known limit: a contender who has faced few opponents keeps an approximate score, and the bottom of the table moves more than the podium.
