Best survival shows and movies

Alice in Borderland wins 79% of its duels and tops the Survive or die ranking ahead of Squid Game.

The podium reveals a tight race at the summit, with Alice in Borderland edging out Squid Game by just 45 ELO points despite the latter's slightly higher win rate of 80%. The real chasm opens between ranks 2 and 3: 168 points separate Squid Game from The Hunger Games, marking the sharpest drop in the ranking. Below, The Long Walk sits at rank 4 with 1272 points after only 18 duels, while The 8 Show rounds out the top 5. At the bottom, As the Gods Will struggles with a 26% win rate and 993 ELO points, trailing The Hunt and 3% in a cluster of titles that voters clearly find less compelling.

This ranking draws on 623 duels contributed by 19 players across 13 contenders, last updated on 12 October 2026. How this ranking is computed

Every duel won lifts a contender and every loss drops them, by an amount that depends on the opponent's strength: beating the leader is worth more than beating the last. It is an ELO, the same principle as in chess. Duels are not drawn at random — an adaptive entropy sort puts the least predictable match-ups first, which settles the ranking far faster than a full round robin. A worldwide ranking is only published past 30 completed plays. Known limit: a contender who has faced few opponents keeps an approximate score, and the bottom of the table moves more than the podium.
