Best astérix albums

15 ELO points separate Asterix in Britain from Asterix and the Banquet at the top of the Asterix ranking, after 5412 duels.

Asterix and Cleopatra claims the top spot with 1360 ELO points and a 64% win rate across 118 duels, but Asterix in Britain follows closely at 1352 points. The sharpest drop in the podium sits between second and third place, where the 15-point gap to Asterix and the Banquet marks the ranking's biggest divide at the summit. Asterix in Switzerland and Asterix at the Olympic Games round out the top 5, all clustered within a tight 26-point range. At the other end, Asterix and the Falling Sky languishes at the bottom with 922 ELO points and a 31% win rate, suggesting the community decisively rejects certain later entries in the series.

This ranking draws from 5412 duels involving 39 players across 38 contenders, updated on 12 October 2026. The vote reveals a clear preference for the classic albums, with the podium dominated by stories from the series' golden era. How this ranking is computed

Every duel won lifts a contender and every loss drops them, by an amount that depends on the opponent's strength: beating the leader is worth more than beating the last. It is an ELO, the same principle as in chess. Duels are not drawn at random — an adaptive entropy sort puts the least predictable match-ups first, which settles the ranking far faster than a full round robin. A worldwide ranking is only published past 30 completed plays. Known limit: a contender who has faced few opponents keeps an approximate score, and the bottom of the table moves more than the podium.
