Best Marvel teams

4559 duels later, The X-Men still lead the Marvel ranking with 1565 ELO points, but The Avengers trail by just 22 points at 1543.

The X-Men claim the top spot with a 75% win rate across 312 duels, narrowly edging out The Avengers who follow with 1543 ELO points and a 74% win rate over 250 duels. The real drop-off comes after rank 2: a 183-point gap separates The Avengers from The Fantastic Four in third place, the sharpest divide in the entire ranking. The Fantastic Four and The Guardians of the Galaxy sit level at 1360 points, tied for bronze despite slight differences in their win rates of 63% and 62% respectively. The Illuminati rounds out the top 5 with 1315 ELO points. At the bottom, the voting reveals a split community: Damage Control languishes at 805 ELO with just a 17% win rate over 235 duels, while X-Statix manages only 27% wins and The Exiles fare slightly better at 29%. These teams remain niche favorites at best, struggling to convince voters of their merits.

How this ranking is computed

Every duel won lifts a contender and every loss drops them, by an amount that depends on the opponent's strength: beating the leader is worth more than beating the last. It is an ELO, the same principle as in chess. Duels are not drawn at random — an adaptive entropy sort puts the least predictable match-ups first, which settles the ranking far faster than a full round robin. A worldwide ranking is only published past 30 completed plays. Known limit: a contender who has faced few opponents keeps an approximate score, and the bottom of the table moves more than the podium.
