Most violent comic book heroes

Deadpool wins 65% of its duels and tops the Marvel & DC Comics ranking ahead of The Punisher, with Wolverine close behind at rank 3.

The Merc with a Mouth edges out The Punisher by just 3 ELO points in a brutally tight race at the top, while the most telling divide cuts between Wolverine at rank 3 and Spawn at rank 4: 63 ELO points separate them, the sharpest gap in the entire ranking. That drop suggests voters recognize a different caliber of carnage among the top three contenders, all sharing a 64% to 65% win rate. Spawn, Venom, and the rest trail in their wake. At the bottom, Marv sits at rank 12 with 1029 ELO points and a 36% win rate, indicating the Sin City enforcer has yet to convince the community he belongs among the most violent heroes in cape-and-cowl history.

This ranking draws on 3779 duels judged by 132 players across 12 contenders, last updated on 10 October 2026. Whether you believe Deadpool's fourth-wall-breaking slaughter deserves the crown or think Frank Castle's body count speaks louder, head to VAINKEURZ and cast your vote. Every duel shifts the standings, and with margins this narrow at the top, a handful of decisions can rewrite the podium.

How this ranking is computed

Every duel won lifts a contender and every loss drops them, by an amount that depends on the opponent's strength: beating the leader is worth more than beating the last. It is an ELO, the same principle as in chess. Duels are not drawn at random — an adaptive entropy sort puts the least predictable match-ups first, which settles the ranking far faster than a full round robin. A worldwide ranking is only published past 30 completed plays. Known limit: a contender who has faced few opponents keeps an approximate score, and the bottom of the table moves more than the podium.
