Intermarché Super wins 60% of its duels and tops the Supermarket ranking ahead of Carrefour Market.

The podium reveals tight competition at the summit, where just 16 ELO points separate first from third. Intermarché Super (1365 ELO) edges past Carrefour Market (1349 ELO) by a narrow 16 points, while Grand Frais (1345 ELO) holds third position. The ranking's sharpest divide appears between ranks 3 and 4: a 23-point gap pushes Grand Frais clear of Auchan Supermarché and Super U, who share fourth place with identical 1322 ELO scores. At the bottom, Bi1 languishes in ninth with 912 ELO points and a 24% win rate, suggesting the community holds strong preferences against certain chains. Match (1043 ELO) and Colruyt (999 ELO) occupy the other basement spots, trailing far behind the leaders.

How this ranking is computed

Every duel won lifts a contender and every loss drops them, by an amount that depends on the opponent's strength: beating the leader is worth more than beating the last. It is an ELO, the same principle as in chess. Duels are not drawn at random — an adaptive entropy sort puts the least predictable match-ups first, which settles the ranking far faster than a full round robin. A worldwide ranking is only published past 30 completed plays. Known limit: a contender who has faced few opponents keeps an approximate score, and the bottom of the table moves more than the podium.
