Best ways to cool down in summer

631 duels later, Pool is still #1 in the Cooling Off ranking, with Ice Cream/Sorbet close behind.

Pool dominates with 1350 ELO points and wins 70% of its duels, building an 80-point gap over Ice Cream/Sorbet in second place. That margin is the sharpest in the entire ranking, underlining the appeal of immersing yourself fully rather than settling for frozen treats. Drinking slots into third with 1251 points, followed by Shower at 1227 and AC at 1223. The tight clustering in the middle suggests voters see real merit across multiple approaches, while the drop-off below reveals where preferences harden. At the bottom, Mist Spray languishes at 989 ELO with a 24% win rate, suggesting the community sees little merit in a temporary spritz when more decisive methods are available. Slushie fares only marginally better at 1105 points, reinforcing the sense that novelty loses out to proven relief.

The ranking draws on 631 duels contributed by 39 players across 8 contenders, last updated on 12 October 2026. The volume of voting confirms a clear consensus: a full plunge beats incremental relief. How this ranking is computed

Every duel won lifts a contender and every loss drops them, by an amount that depends on the opponent's strength: beating the leader is worth more than beating the last. It is an ELO, the same principle as in chess. Duels are not drawn at random — an adaptive entropy sort puts the least predictable match-ups first, which settles the ranking far faster than a full round robin. A worldwide ranking is only published past 30 completed plays. Known limit: a contender who has faced few opponents keeps an approximate score, and the bottom of the table moves more than the podium.
