Best Band of the Hawk members

1150 duels later, Guts remains #1 in the Berserk ranking with 1583 ELO points, Casca in second place.

Guts dominates with a commanding 165 ELO points over Casca, the largest gap in this ranking. His 88% win rate across 42 duels reflects the raw loyalty fans hold for the Black Swordsman. Casca holds second with 1418 ELO points, while Griffith, the architect of the Band of the Hawk's rise and fall, ranks third at 1255 points. Judeau and Rickert round out the top 5, both respected warriors whose fates left deep marks on readers. The podium arrangement feels inevitable given the emotional weight these three carry throughout the Golden Age arc.

At the bottom, Gaston sits in last place with 901 ELO points and a 24% win rate across 71 duels, followed closely by Corkus at 955 points. Their positions suggest the community reserves its affection for characters who displayed either heroism or complexity, traits neither quite embodied in the same measure as their higher-ranked comrades. Across 8 contenders, 79 players have cast 1150 duels as of 11 October 2026. The ranking remains open: cast your vote and shape the hierarchy of Midland's most tragic mercenary band.

How this ranking is computed

Every duel won lifts a contender and every loss drops them, by an amount that depends on the opponent's strength: beating the leader is worth more than beating the last. It is an ELO, the same principle as in chess. Duels are not drawn at random — an adaptive entropy sort puts the least predictable match-ups first, which settles the ranking far faster than a full round robin. A worldwide ranking is only published past 30 completed plays. Known limit: a contender who has faced few opponents keeps an approximate score, and the bottom of the table moves more than the podium.
