Best Black Clover magic knight squads

87 ELO points separate Black Bull from Crimson Lion at the top of the Black Clover squad ranking, after 1766 duels.

Black Bull dominates with 1392 ELO points and a 72% win rate across 179 duels, establishing a commanding lead over second-placed Crimson Lion at 1305 points. Golden Dawn claims third with 1263 ELO, trailing the top by 129 points. The tightest race unfolds in the middle ranks: Azure Deer at 1240 ELO edges just 37 points ahead of Blue Rose at 1203. At the bottom, Purple Orca languishes at 975 ELO with a 27% win rate, suggesting the community views it as the least appealing choice among the nine squads. The 417-point chasm between first and last reveals a clear hierarchy in squad desirability, with Black Bull's rebellious reputation evidently resonating strongest among voters.

This ranking draws from 1766 duels submitted by 98 players across all 9 squads from the series, updated on 11 October 2026. The data reflects fan preferences rather than squad strength in the manga, revealing which teams capture the imagination of the Black Clover community. Whether you align with Black Bull's chaotic energy or prefer another squad's ethos, cast your vote in head-to-head duels to shape this ranking and see how your choice stacks up against the crowd.

How this ranking is computed

Every duel won lifts a contender and every loss drops them, by an amount that depends on the opponent's strength: beating the leader is worth more than beating the last. It is an ELO, the same principle as in chess. Duels are not drawn at random — an adaptive entropy sort puts the least predictable match-ups first, which settles the ranking far faster than a full round robin. A worldwide ranking is only published past 30 completed plays. Known limit: a contender who has faced few opponents keeps an approximate score, and the bottom of the table moves more than the podium.
