Best Bleach zanpakuto spirits

56 ELO points separate Katen Kyōkotsu (Shunsui Kyōraku) from Zangetsu – Hollow (Ichigo Kurosaki) at the top of the Bleach Zanpakutō spirit ranking, after 5252 duels.

Katen Kyōkotsu holds the summit with 1430 ELO points and a 62% win rate across 215 duels, establishing a clear lead over the second-placed Zangetsu – Hollow at 1374 points. Sode no Shirayuki trails closely at 1369 points, followed by Senbonzakura at 1342 and Zangetsu – Quincy at 1341, showing how competitive the top tier remains. The ranking's bottom tells a different story: Gegetsuburi languishes at rank 22 with just 735 ELO points and a 10% win rate, suggesting that Marechiyo Ōmaeda's Zanpakutō leaves voters cold. Hisagomaru sits one spot above at 1028 points, while Minazuki holds rank 20 with 1101 points despite its formidable reputation in the series.

How this ranking is computed

Every duel won lifts a contender and every loss drops them, by an amount that depends on the opponent's strength: beating the leader is worth more than beating the last. It is an ELO, the same principle as in chess. Duels are not drawn at random — an adaptive entropy sort puts the least predictable match-ups first, which settles the ranking far faster than a full round robin. A worldwide ranking is only published past 30 completed plays. Known limit: a contender who has faced few opponents keeps an approximate score, and the bottom of the table moves more than the podium.
