Best Chainsaw Man characters

1595 duels later, Makima is still #1 in the Chainsaw Man favorite character ranking, with Power close behind at 1402 ELO points.

The top three contenders cluster tightly, with Makima at 1413 ELO, Power at 1402, and Denji at 1394. Yet a sharp 90-point drop separates Denji from Aki Hayakawa in fourth place, marking the clearest divide in the ranking. Makima's dominance at the summit reflects her polarizing presence in the series, while Power's strong showing and Denji's third-place finish confirm the protagonist trio's hold on the community. Despite winning 66% of his duels across 202 matchups, Denji cannot quite match Makima's 1413 ELO score. Aki Hayakawa trails at 1304 points with a 59% win rate over 224 duels, while Angel Devil rounds out the top five at 1303 ELO. At the bottom, Prinz languishes at 831 ELO with a 19% win rate across 162 duels, suggesting minor characters struggle to compete with the series' core cast. Hirokazu Arai and Akane Sawatari fare only slightly better at 986 and 1024 points respectively.

How this ranking is computed

Every duel won lifts a contender and every loss drops them, by an amount that depends on the opponent's strength: beating the leader is worth more than beating the last. It is an ELO, the same principle as in chess. Duels are not drawn at random — an adaptive entropy sort puts the least predictable match-ups first, which settles the ranking far faster than a full round robin. A worldwide ranking is only published past 30 completed plays. Known limit: a contender who has faced few opponents keeps an approximate score, and the bottom of the table moves more than the podium.
