Demon Slayer breathing styles ranking

Moon Breathing leads the Demon Slayer ranking with 1283 ELO points over 930 duels, ahead of Mist Breathing and Water Breathing.

The top three contenders cluster tightly together, separated by only 5 ELO points between Moon Breathing at 1283 and Water Breathing at 1278. The sharpest divide appears lower down: Flame Breathing at rank 4 edges 22 ELO points ahead of Thunder Breathing at rank 5, marking the ranking's biggest gap. Moon Breathing's narrow victory at the summit suggests the fanbase sees little to separate the elite techniques, while Mist Breathing's 61% win rate shows its consistent appeal in head-to-head matchups. At the opposite end, Love Breathing languishes at rank 14 with 1031 ELO points, trailing the podium by 247 points and winning just 38% of its duels. Stone Breathing sits one spot above at rank 13, similarly struggling with a 37% win rate. The bottom tier reveals a preference for offensive and elemental spectacle over defensive or unconventional styles.

This ranking draws from 18164 duels submitted by 494 players across 14 Breathing Styles, updated on 10 October 2026. The tight margins at the top and the clear separation between upper and lower tiers demonstrate how the community weighs power, aesthetics and narrative impact when choosing their ideal technique. How this ranking is computed

Every duel won lifts a contender and every loss drops them, by an amount that depends on the opponent's strength: beating the leader is worth more than beating the last. It is an ELO, the same principle as in chess. Duels are not drawn at random — an adaptive entropy sort puts the least predictable match-ups first, which settles the ranking far faster than a full round robin. A worldwide ranking is only published past 30 completed plays. Known limit: a contender who has faced few opponents keeps an approximate score, and the bottom of the table moves more than the podium.
