Best cell saga fights DRAGON BALL z

164 ELO points separate SSJ2 Gohan vs Cell from Goku vs Cell at the top of the DRAGON BALL ranking, after 6252 duels.

The podium confirms fan consensus: Gohan's transformation into Super Saiyan 2 against Cell dominates with 1516 ELO points and a 78% win rate across 373 duels. The 164-point chasm between it and Goku vs Cell in second place marks the widest gap in the entire ranking, signaling that voters see Gohan's iconic moment as untouchable. Piccolo vs Android 17 rounds out the top 3 at 1331 points, while Vegeta vs Cell 2nd Form and Vegeta vs Android 19 complete the top 5. The bottom tells a different story: Cell Juniors vs Z Fighters lands at rank 16 with just 977 ELO and a 29% win rate, suggesting the community views group battles as less compelling than the saga's defining one-on-one showdowns. Goku vs Android 19 sits just above at rank 15 with 1084 points, perhaps suffering from its abrupt end due to Goku's heart condition.

This ranking draws on 6252 duels submitted by 137 players across 16 contenders, updated on 12 October 2026. How this ranking is computed

Every duel won lifts a contender and every loss drops them, by an amount that depends on the opponent's strength: beating the leader is worth more than beating the last. It is an ELO, the same principle as in chess. Duels are not drawn at random — an adaptive entropy sort puts the least predictable match-ups first, which settles the ranking far faster than a full round robin. A worldwide ranking is only published past 30 completed plays. Known limit: a contender who has faced few opponents keeps an approximate score, and the bottom of the table moves more than the podium.
