Strongest Dragon Ball Z characters

Goku wins 81% of his duels and tops the Dragon Ball Z ranking ahead of Kid Buu, who trails at 1737 ELO points.

The rivalry between Goku and Kid Buu remains tight at the summit, with just 10 ELO points separating them after 252 and 293 duels respectively. Gohan claims third position at 1680 ELO, while the sharpest drop in the ranking appears between Majin Buu and Vegeta: 88 ELO points separate the two fighters at ranks 4 and 5. This gap suggests the community draws a clear line between the absolute elite and the merely exceptional. At the bottom, Mr. Satan languishes in last place with 668 ELO and a 16% win rate, cementing his status as the weakest contender in the community's eyes. The gap between combat prowess and showmanship could not be clearer, and voters show no mercy for the self-proclaimed champion whose theatrical bravado fails to impress those who understand real power.

How this ranking is computed

Every duel won lifts a contender and every loss drops them, by an amount that depends on the opponent's strength: beating the leader is worth more than beating the last. It is an ELO, the same principle as in chess. Duels are not drawn at random — an adaptive entropy sort puts the least predictable match-ups first, which settles the ranking far faster than a full round robin. A worldwide ranking is only published past 30 completed plays. Known limit: a contender who has faced few opponents keeps an approximate score, and the bottom of the table moves more than the podium.
