Strongest Dragon Ball z fighters

14415 duels later, Goku is still #1 in the Dragon Ball ranking, with Gohan close behind at 1714 ELO points.

The podium reflects fan consensus with precision: Goku dominates at 1856 ELO points and an 81% win rate across 307 duels, while Gohan follows at 1714 points with 75% of his 337 duels won. Vegeta holds third place at 1581 points, winning 63% of his 402 matchups. The sharpest drop in the entire ranking appears between ranks 4 and 5, where 147 ELO points separate Buu from Future Trunks. This gap marks the frontier between elite fighters and the upper-middle tier, a distinction the community has drawn with remarkable consistency. At the bottom, the ranking delivers a harsh verdict on supporting characters: Yajirobe languishes at rank 17 with just 589 ELO points and a 20% win rate over 273 duels, while Chiaotzu manages only 666 points at rank 16. The community has spoken clearly about who belongs in serious combat discussions and who does not.

How this ranking is computed

Every duel won lifts a contender and every loss drops them, by an amount that depends on the opponent's strength: beating the leader is worth more than beating the last. It is an ELO, the same principle as in chess. Duels are not drawn at random — an adaptive entropy sort puts the least predictable match-ups first, which settles the ranking far faster than a full round robin. A worldwide ranking is only published past 30 completed plays. Known limit: a contender who has faced few opponents keeps an approximate score, and the bottom of the table moves more than the podium.
