Best Fire Force captains

124 ELO points separate Shinmon Benimaru – Company 7 from Akitaru Obi – Company 8 at the top of the Fire Force company captain ranking, after 1917 duels.

Benimaru dominates with 1549 ELO points and a 78% win rate across 41 duels, establishing clear superiority over Obi's 1425 points. The podium tightens below: Leonard Burns – Company 1 takes third place with 1336 ELO, edging out Hibana – Company 5 by just 23 points. Yet the ranking's sharpest division lies between fourth and fifth place, where a 254-point chasm separates Hibana from Kayoko Huang – Company 6. This brutal gap splits the captains into two tiers: the four leaders who command respect, and the bottom four who struggle to convince voters. The cellar tells its own story, with Dr. Giovanni – Company 3 managing only a 24% win rate and Gustav Honda – Company 2 sitting last at 957 ELO, trailing Benimaru by 592 points.

How this ranking is computed

Every duel won lifts a contender and every loss drops them, by an amount that depends on the opponent's strength: beating the leader is worth more than beating the last. It is an ELO, the same principle as in chess. Duels are not drawn at random — an adaptive entropy sort puts the least predictable match-ups first, which settles the ranking far faster than a full round robin. A worldwide ranking is only published past 30 completed plays. Known limit: a contender who has faced few opponents keeps an approximate score, and the bottom of the table moves more than the podium.
