Best High School DxD volume covers

Volume 3 wins 72% of its duels and tops the High School DxD volume cover ranking ahead of Volume 4.

Volume 4 holds second place with 1322 ELO points over 41 duels, but a substantial gap of 98 points separates it from Volume 8 in third. This sharp drop suggests a clear divide between the top two covers and the rest of the field. Volume 3's dominance at 1371 ELO points reflects strong visual appeal that resonates with the community, while Volume 4's 66% win rate keeps it firmly in contention. Further down, Volume 1 sits at fourth with 1216 ELO points despite its status as the series opener, suggesting that nostalgia alone doesn't guarantee top placement. The bottom of the ranking reveals Volume 7 trailing at 1052 ELO points with a 43% win rate, indicating certain covers fail to connect with voters regardless of their narrative significance.

This ranking draws from 946 duels submitted by 39 players across 11 contenders, last updated on 12 October 2026. The spread between positions shows that High School DxD fans hold distinct preferences when it comes to cover art, with early volumes claiming both the summit and the cellar. Whether you favor character composition, color schemes, or iconic moments, cast your vote to shape this evolving TopList and see how your favorite volume cover measures up against the field.

How this ranking is computed

Every duel won lifts a contender and every loss drops them, by an amount that depends on the opponent's strength: beating the leader is worth more than beating the last. It is an ELO, the same principle as in chess. Duels are not drawn at random — an adaptive entropy sort puts the least predictable match-ups first, which settles the ranking far faster than a full round robin. A worldwide ranking is only published past 30 completed plays. Known limit: a contender who has faced few opponents keeps an approximate score, and the bottom of the table moves more than the podium.
