Strongest Hunter X Hunter characters

Gon leads the Hunter X Hunter ranking with 1429 ELO points over 127 duels, ahead of Killua and Kurapika.

The tightest race sits at the top, where just 12 ELO points separate Gon from Killua at ranks 1 and 2. Gon wins 68% of his duels while Killua takes 66%, making the summit a near-even contest between two dominant forces. Kurapika holds third place with a 52% win rate, maintaining a respectable position but trailing the leaders by a considerable margin. The real chasm opens below: 445 ELO points divide Kurapika from Leorio at the bottom of the ranking. Leorio wins only 4% of his duels over 102 matchups, a brutal verdict from the community that places him far below his squadmates. The gap suggests voters see the first three as capable fighters while Leorio occupies a different tier entirely, despite his role in the squad.

How this ranking is computed

Every duel won lifts a contender and every loss drops them, by an amount that depends on the opponent's strength: beating the leader is worth more than beating the last. It is an ELO, the same principle as in chess. Duels are not drawn at random — an adaptive entropy sort puts the least predictable match-ups first, which settles the ranking far faster than a full round robin. A worldwide ranking is only published past 30 completed plays. Known limit: a contender who has faced few opponents keeps an approximate score, and the bottom of the table moves more than the podium.
