Best vanitas no carte characters

Vanitas wins 76% of its duels and tops The Case Study of Vanitas ranking ahead of Noé Archiviste.

An 83-point ELO gap separates Vanitas from Noé Archiviste at the top, the clearest divide in the entire ranking. Vanitas's 1493 points and dominant win rate establish a firm lead over the second-place vampire archivist. Jeanne claims third with 1366 points, followed by Dominique de Sade at 1326. The podium reflects the series' central trio, with the title character holding clear command. At the bottom, Naenia languishes at 1011 points with a 27% win rate, the lowest performance across all 16 contenders. Riche sits just above at 1017 points, while August Ruthven rounds out the lower tier at 1094. The basement positions suggest these antagonists struggle to win favor among voters, their narrative roles as threats and mysteries translating poorly into popularity.

The ranking draws from 4051 duels submitted by 97 players, mapping preferences across 16 characters from Jun Mochizuki's series. Updated on 11 October 2026, the data captures how the community weighs charm, complexity and screen presence when choosing between doctors, vampires and their allies. Vanitas's lead appears stable, but Noé Archiviste's 67% win rate keeps him competitive. Vote now on VAINKEURZ to shift the hierarchy or cement the current order.

How this ranking is computed

Every duel won lifts a contender and every loss drops them, by an amount that depends on the opponent's strength: beating the leader is worth more than beating the last. It is an ELO, the same principle as in chess. Duels are not drawn at random — an adaptive entropy sort puts the least predictable match-ups first, which settles the ranking far faster than a full round robin. A worldwide ranking is only published past 30 completed plays. Known limit: a contender who has faced few opponents keeps an approximate score, and the bottom of the table moves more than the podium.
