Best My Hero Academia characters

Deku – Izuku Midoriya leads the My Hero Academia: The Strongest Hero ranking with 1407 ELO points over 194 duels, ahead of Dynamight – Katsuki Bakugo and Dabi.

The podium reflects player preferences for versatile characters who deliver both in combat and story impact. Dynamight – Katsuki Bakugo sits 16 points behind Deku in second place with 1391 ELO, while Dabi claims third at 1361 ELO. The ranking's sharpest divide appears between fourth and fifth place, where Shoto – Shoto Todoroki edges out All Might by 43 points. This gap underscores how the Symbol of Peace's playstyle splits the community despite his legendary status in the series. All Might still commands respect at 1292 ELO with 160 duels, but players seem to favor the younger generation's tactical flexibility. At the bottom, Grape Juice – Minoru Mineta languishes at rank 22 with 923 ELO and a 26 percent win rate, just ahead of Backdraft at 882 ELO in last place. These low scores suggest players gravitate toward fan-favorite fighters over niche or support-focused characters, leaving less popular heroes struggling for recognition.

This ranking draws from 6905 duels contributed by 98 players across 23 contenders, with the latest update recorded on 11 October 2026. Whether you main explosive offense, ice and fire control, or another quirk entirely, the roster remains open for debate. How this ranking is computed

Every duel won lifts a contender and every loss drops them, by an amount that depends on the opponent's strength: beating the leader is worth more than beating the last. It is an ELO, the same principle as in chess. Duels are not drawn at random — an adaptive entropy sort puts the least predictable match-ups first, which settles the ranking far faster than a full round robin. A worldwide ranking is only published past 30 completed plays. Known limit: a contender who has faced few opponents keeps an approximate score, and the bottom of the table moves more than the podium.
