Best Naruto modes

Sage Mode wins 57% of its duels and tops the best Naruto mode ranking ahead of Six Paths Sage Mode.

Sage Mode holds the top position with 1342 ELO points across 446 duels, but Six Paths Sage Mode trails by only 5 points at 1337 ELO. The sharpest division appears between ranks 2 and 3, where 66 ELO points separate Six Paths Sage Mode from Baryon Mode. Despite Six Paths Sage Mode's higher win rate of 68%, voters place the original Sage Mode first, a choice that highlights the enduring appeal of the transformation introduced during the Pain arc. Baryon Mode takes rank 3 with 1271 ELO and a 64% win rate across 372 duels. Tailed Beast Mode sits at rank 4 with 1241 ELO, while Kurama Chakra Mode rounds out the top 5 at 1219 ELO. At the bottom, Nine-Tails Chakra Mode (The Last) registers 1062 ELO points, suggesting the community views later-era transformations less favorably than modes from the original series.

This ranking draws from 49074 duels cast by 1799 players across 12 contenders, updated on 10 October 2026. The narrow margins at the top reflect ongoing debates within the fanbase about power scaling versus narrative weight. VAINKEURZ builds these rankings through head-to-head matchups where each vote shifts the standings. Cast your own duels to shape the list.

How this ranking is computed

Every duel won lifts a contender and every loss drops them, by an amount that depends on the opponent's strength: beating the leader is worth more than beating the last. It is an ELO, the same principle as in chess. Duels are not drawn at random — an adaptive entropy sort puts the least predictable match-ups first, which settles the ranking far faster than a full round robin. A worldwide ranking is only published past 30 completed plays. Known limit: a contender who has faced few opponents keeps an approximate score, and the bottom of the table moves more than the podium.
