Best One Piece arc bosses pre-timeskip

Crocodile wins 72% of its duels and tops the One Piece pre-timeskip arc boss ranking ahead of Enel.

The former Warlord holds a 60-point lead over Enel at 1468 ELO, who edges out Rob Lucci by just 9 points. The gap widens dramatically below the top 3: Magellan sits at rank 4 with 1412 ELO, then a sharp 65-point drop separates him from Kizaru at rank 5. Crocodile's dominance reflects the Alabasta arc's enduring impact on fans, while Enel's strong second place confirms the Skypiea antagonist's lasting appeal. At the bottom, Morgan languishes at rank 19 with 928 ELO and a 28% win rate, suggesting the earliest arc villains struggle to compete with the more complex threats introduced later in the pre-timeskip era. Foxy and Alvida occupy ranks 17 and 18, reinforcing that comedic or minor antagonists rarely match the heavyweight appeal of saga-ending bosses.

This ranking draws from 21840 duels across 413 players, comparing all 19 pre-timeskip arc bosses head-to-head. The figures reflect community preferences as of 11 October 2026. How this ranking is computed

Every duel won lifts a contender and every loss drops them, by an amount that depends on the opponent's strength: beating the leader is worth more than beating the last. It is an ELO, the same principle as in chess. Duels are not drawn at random — an adaptive entropy sort puts the least predictable match-ups first, which settles the ranking far faster than a full round robin. A worldwide ranking is only published past 30 completed plays. Known limit: a contender who has faced few opponents keeps an approximate score, and the bottom of the table moves more than the podium.
