Best One Piece PRE-TIMESKIP arcs

Marineford Arc leads the One Piece pre-timeskip ranking with 1586 ELO points over 251 duels, ahead of Enies Lobby Arc and Alabasta Arc.

The War at the Summit secures the top position, but Enies Lobby Arc trails by only 40 ELO points, setting up a tight contest for supremacy. The widest margin appears between ranks 2 and 3, where 106 points separate Enies Lobby Arc from Alabasta Arc. This gap underscores the distinct tier occupied by the top two arcs, both celebrated for their high-stakes combat and emotional weight. Impel Down Arc and Water Seven Arc round out the top 5, clustered within 13 ELO points of each other, suggesting near-equal standing among fans. At the bottom, Davy Back Fight Arc sits at 826 ELO points, reflecting the community's lukewarm reception to its lighthearted filler tone. Laboon Arc and Buggy the Clown Arc occupy ranks 20 and 19 respectively, their placement indicating that early, shorter arcs struggle to compete with the saga's later narrative peaks.

This ranking emerges from 34602 duels judged by 577 players across 21 pre-timeskip arcs, updated on 10 October 2026. The volume of votes confirms sustained engagement with One Piece's foundational story arcs, even years after their original publication. Whether you favor the operatic tragedy of Marineford or the architectural assault of Enies Lobby, the ranking invites you to weigh in. Cast your vote and shape the standings.

How this ranking is computed

Every duel won lifts a contender and every loss drops them, by an amount that depends on the opponent's strength: beating the leader is worth more than beating the last. It is an ELO, the same principle as in chess. Duels are not drawn at random — an adaptive entropy sort puts the least predictable match-ups first, which settles the ranking far faster than a full round robin. A worldwide ranking is only published past 30 completed plays. Known limit: a contender who has faced few opponents keeps an approximate score, and the bottom of the table moves more than the podium.
