Best Pokémon types

GHOST wins 60% of its duels and tops the Pokémon Type ranking ahead of DRAGON, which sits at 1300 ELO points with a 61% win rate.

GHOST holds the top spot with 1343 ELO points, establishing itself as the community's clear favorite among Pokémon types. Yet the 43-point gap separating it from DRAGON at rank 2 reveals a competitive race at the summit, with DRAGON's 61% win rate showing it holds its own in head-to-head matchups. ICE claims third place with 1291 points, just one point ahead of ELECTRIC at 1290, making the top four a tightly packed cluster of fan favorites. POISON rounds out the top five with 1270 points. The ranking's lower end paints a stark contrast: NORMAL languishes at the bottom with 940 ELO points and a mere 28% win rate, suggesting this ubiquitous type fails to inspire the same enthusiasm. BUG fares only marginally better at rank 17 with 1038 points, while ROCK occupies rank 16 with 1093 points.

This ranking draws from 21849 duels submitted by 405 players across 18 Pokémon types. The data was last updated on 10 October 2026. Whether you champion the spectral dominance of GHOST or believe DRAGON deserves the crown, VAINKEURZ invites you to cast your vote and influence the standings.

How this ranking is computed

Every duel won lifts a contender and every loss drops them, by an amount that depends on the opponent's strength: beating the leader is worth more than beating the last. It is an ELO, the same principle as in chess. Duels are not drawn at random — an adaptive entropy sort puts the least predictable match-ups first, which settles the ranking far faster than a full round robin. A worldwide ranking is only published past 30 completed plays. Known limit: a contender who has faced few opponents keeps an approximate score, and the bottom of the table moves more than the podium.
