Best Sakamoto Days characters

Taro Sakamoto leads the Sakamoto Days favorite main character ranking with 1364 ELO points over 38 duels, ahead of Shin and Lu Xiaotang.

The podium shows a tight race at the top, where Taro Sakamoto edges out Shin by 26 points. But the sharpest divide appears between ranks 2 and 3: a 258-point gap separates Shin from Lu Xiaotang, marking the clearest split in voter preference across the entire ranking. While Taro Sakamoto secures the top spot with a 74% win rate, the bottom half reveals a community less convinced by Lu Xiaotang and Aoi Sakamoto, who sits at 1018 ELO after 39 duels. The ranking captures the contrast between the series' most compelling figures and those who fail to resonate as strongly with readers. Shin's 63% win rate over 49 duels confirms solid support, yet the former legendary hitman remains the runaway favorite among fans debating which main character commands their loyalty.

How this ranking is computed

Every duel won lifts a contender and every loss drops them, by an amount that depends on the opponent's strength: beating the leader is worth more than beating the last. It is an ELO, the same principle as in chess. Duels are not drawn at random — an adaptive entropy sort puts the least predictable match-ups first, which settles the ranking far faster than a full round robin. A worldwide ranking is only published past 30 completed plays. Known limit: a contender who has faced few opponents keeps an approximate score, and the bottom of the table moves more than the podium.
