Best MANGA universes to live in

3875 duels later, One Piece is still #1 in the manga ranking, with Fairy Tail close behind at 1255 ELO points.

One Piece edges out Fairy Tail by 14 points to claim the top spot, while My Hero Academia rounds out the podium with 1236 ELO. The tightest race unfolds lower down: Naruto sits at 1156 ELO, a commanding 104 points ahead of Dragon Ball at 1052. That gap between ranks 4 and 5 marks the ranking's sharpest divide, suggesting voters draw a clear line between universes they would embrace and those they would avoid. At the bottom, Attack on Titan languishes with just 821 ELO and a 22% win rate, a harsh verdict on a world defined by existential dread and man-eating giants.

The ranking draws on 3875 duels cast by 146 players across 11 contenders, updated on 10 October 2026. One Piece wins 68% of its matchups, a testament to the Grand Line's enduring appeal despite its dangers. Fairy Tail follows at 66%, while My Hero Academia secures 65%. The vote reveals a preference for adventure and camaraderie over apocalyptic survival or absurdist peril. Head to VAINKEURZ to cast your own duels and shape the ranking.

How this ranking is computed

Every duel won lifts a contender and every loss drops them, by an amount that depends on the opponent's strength: beating the leader is worth more than beating the last. It is an ELO, the same principle as in chess. Duels are not drawn at random — an adaptive entropy sort puts the least predictable match-ups first, which settles the ranking far faster than a full round robin. A worldwide ranking is only published past 30 completed plays. Known limit: a contender who has faced few opponents keeps an approximate score, and the bottom of the table moves more than the podium.
