Best pet animals

36 ELO points separate Cat from Dog at the top of the Pets ranking, after 990 duels.

Cat edges out Dog by 36 points, but both share an identical 71% win rate. The sharpest divide appears further down: Rabbit holds third place with 1380 ELO, a commanding 132 points ahead of Guinea Pig in fourth. Hamster sits just 1 point behind Guinea Pig at 1247 ELO, creating a tight race in the middle of the ranking. At the bottom, the community shows less enthusiasm for aquatic and exotic companions. Reptile lands in last place with 1009 ELO and a 34% win rate, barely trailing Fish at 1022 ELO. Chicken occupies eighth position with 1030 ELO, suggesting traditional farm animals struggle to compete with classic household pets in this vote.

The ranking reflects 990 duels cast by 42 players across 10 contenders, updated on 12 October 2026. The data captures a clear preference for mammals that share living spaces with humans, while fish and reptiles remain niche choices. Whether you favor the independent Cat or the loyal Dog, cast your vote on VAINKEURZ and shape the Pets ranking with each duel you play.

How this ranking is computed

Every duel won lifts a contender and every loss drops them, by an amount that depends on the opponent's strength: beating the leader is worth more than beating the last. It is an ELO, the same principle as in chess. Duels are not drawn at random — an adaptive entropy sort puts the least predictable match-ups first, which settles the ranking far faster than a full round robin. A worldwide ranking is only published past 30 completed plays. Known limit: a contender who has faced few opponents keeps an approximate score, and the bottom of the table moves more than the podium.
