Best marine Animals

4113 duels later, Whale is still #1 in the Animals ranking, with Seahorse close behind.

Whale claims the top spot with 1449 ELO points after 162 duels, winning 69% of its matchups. A 47-point gap separates it from Seahorse in second place, the sharpest divide at the summit. Dolphin secures third with 1372 points, while Manta ray and Beluga round out the top 5. The strength of these charismatic contenders reflects the community's attachment to marine mammals and graceful ocean dwellers, leaving smaller or less celebrated species struggling for recognition.

At the bottom, the ranking tells a different story. Cod sits last with 1003 ELO points despite 224 duels, the highest duel count in the entire ranking yet a win rate of just 33%. Mackerel and Brown grouper fare only slightly better, suggesting that familiar food fish lack the appeal of their more iconic counterparts. The 20 players who shaped this ranking through 4113 duels have spoken clearly: size, intelligence and visual spectacle matter when choosing a favorite among 44 sea animals. How this ranking is computed

Every duel won lifts a contender and every loss drops them, by an amount that depends on the opponent's strength: beating the leader is worth more than beating the last. It is an ELO, the same principle as in chess. Duels are not drawn at random — an adaptive entropy sort puts the least predictable match-ups first, which settles the ranking far faster than a full round robin. A worldwide ranking is only published past 30 completed plays. Known limit: a contender who has faced few opponents keeps an approximate score, and the bottom of the table moves more than the podium.
