Best Monopoly tokens

20 ELO points separate The penguin from The battleship at the top of the Monopoly ranking, after 2362 duels.

The penguin sits at 1270 ELO after 61 duels, with The battleship trailing at 1267 across 56 duels. The most dramatic split comes between ranks 2 and 3: The battleship edges ahead of The T-Rex by 20 points, the sharpest gap in the top tier. The T-Rex claims third place with 1247 ELO despite fewer duels, while The car and The top hat round out the top 5 within 3 points of each other. At the bottom, The iron languishes at 1067 ELO with a 33 percent win rate, suggesting the community has little appetite for mundane household objects when whimsical newcomers and classic pieces dominate.

84 players have cast their votes across 2362 duels, sorting 12 contenders into a ranking updated on 11 October 2026. The penguin's narrow lead over The battleship leaves the door open for shifts at the top, while The thimble and The wheelbarrow sit just above The iron in the lower ranks. Cast your vote now to shape the next update and decide which token deserves the crown.

How this ranking is computed

Every duel won lifts a contender and every loss drops them, by an amount that depends on the opponent's strength: beating the leader is worth more than beating the last. It is an ELO, the same principle as in chess. Duels are not drawn at random — an adaptive entropy sort puts the least predictable match-ups first, which settles the ranking far faster than a full round robin. A worldwide ranking is only published past 30 completed plays. Known limit: a contender who has faced few opponents keeps an approximate score, and the bottom of the table moves more than the podium.
