Best Girl Names 2022

16 ELO points separate Jade from Emma at the top of the Girl Names ranking, after 9845 duels.

The gap between Jade and Emma at the summit stands wider than any other separation in the top 5, giving the #1 its firmest foothold. Elena sits third with 1238 points, edging out Anna by just 9 points and Iris by 11. The tightest rivalry spans positions 2 to 5, where fewer than 20 points divide four contenders. At the opposite end, Lena closes the ranking at 1131 points, trailing Chloe by 3 and Mia by 5. The bottom three contenders all share an identical 48% win rate, suggesting the community struggles to choose among them. The narrow margins throughout the ranking hint at deep splits in voter preferences, with no name securing a decisive advantage beyond the first position.

This ranking gathers 9845 duels across 20 contenders, shaped by 170 players as of 10 October 2026. Each vote pushes the standings closer to reflecting collective taste, but with such slim differences, a single duel can still shift the order. How this ranking is computed

Every duel won lifts a contender and every loss drops them, by an amount that depends on the opponent's strength: beating the leader is worth more than beating the last. It is an ELO, the same principle as in chess. Duels are not drawn at random — an adaptive entropy sort puts the least predictable match-ups first, which settles the ranking far faster than a full round robin. A worldwide ranking is only published past 30 completed plays. Known limit: a contender who has faced few opponents keeps an approximate score, and the bottom of the table moves more than the podium.
