Best EURO 2024 players

Lamine Yamal wins 75% of his duels and tops the Football Euro 2024 ranking ahead of Nico Williams.

Yamal's dominance is unmistakable: his 1467 ELO score puts him 196 points clear of second-placed Williams, the widest gap in the entire ranking. That margin speaks to the teenage winger's impact throughout the tournament, where he combined technique and composure beyond his years. Williams himself earns respect with 1271 ELO, while Rodri sits close behind at 1259, reflecting Spain's overall strength. Mike Maignan claims fourth place with 1246 ELO after 341 duels, ahead of William Saliba who holds 1233 ELO from the same number of duels. The bottom of the table reveals a harsher verdict: Akanji languishes at 959 ELO with a 30% win rate across 290 duels, trailing Kyle Walker at 1062 ELO and Marc Cucurella at 1103 ELO, both of whom struggled to convince voters despite deep runs in the competition.

This ranking draws from 1614 duels judged by 66 players across 11 contenders, updated on 12 October 2026. The figures capture how individual brilliance, rather than team success alone, shaped perceptions of the tournament. How this ranking is computed

Every duel won lifts a contender and every loss drops them, by an amount that depends on the opponent's strength: beating the leader is worth more than beating the last. It is an ELO, the same principle as in chess. Duels are not drawn at random — an adaptive entropy sort puts the least predictable match-ups first, which settles the ranking far faster than a full round robin. A worldwide ranking is only published past 30 completed plays. Known limit: a contender who has faced few opponents keeps an approximate score, and the bottom of the table moves more than the podium.
