Best means of transport

36 ELO points separate Train from Car at the top of the Transportation ranking, after 2842 duels.

Train claims the top spot with 1362 ELO points, pulling ahead of Car by a margin of 36 points—the sharpest gap in the ranking. This 36-point difference marks the clearest separation between any two adjacent positions, underlining Train's lead as the community's preferred mode of travel. Car follows at 1326 points despite a strong 67% win rate across 89 duels, while Plane rounds out the podium at 1291 points after 116 duels. The dominance of Train reflects a preference for rail travel that edges out the flexibility of personal vehicles and the speed of air transport. Lower down, the ranking reveals a different story: Horse sits at the bottom with 945 ELO points and a 22% win rate across 81 duels, showing that traditional transport holds little appeal for this community. Truck fares only slightly better at 1016 points with a 30% win rate, underlining a clear divide between practical workhorses and preferred modes of travel.

How this ranking is computed

Every duel won lifts a contender and every loss drops them, by an amount that depends on the opponent's strength: beating the leader is worth more than beating the last. It is an ELO, the same principle as in chess. Duels are not drawn at random — an adaptive entropy sort puts the least predictable match-ups first, which settles the ranking far faster than a full round robin. A worldwide ranking is only published past 30 completed plays. Known limit: a contender who has faced few opponents keeps an approximate score, and the bottom of the table moves more than the podium.
