Best Vacation destinations

Mountains wins 60% of its duels and tops the Vacation ranking ahead of Beach, which takes second place with 1260 ELO points.

The top three vacation destinations cluster tightly together, with Mountains at 1285 ELO, Beach at 1260, and Friends' place at 1255. But the ranking reveals a sharp divide between social and urban escapes: Friends' place edges out City by 77 ELO points, the widest gap in the entire ranking. City lands at rank 4 with 1178 ELO after 130 duels, followed closely by Countryside at 1170 ELO, also with 130 duels. The proximity between these two suggests the community values both options nearly equally when seeking non-coastal natural settings. At the bottom, Family's place sits at rank 6 with 1130 ELO, while Stay home closes the ranking at 1123 ELO after 127 duels. The community clearly prefers active getaways to staying put, though both options garner enough support to remain in contention.

This ranking draws from 1998 duels submitted by 159 players across 7 contenders, updated on 11 October 2026. The preferences reveal a tilt toward natural settings and social visits over traditional urban tourism. Mountains edges out Beach by just 25 ELO points, suggesting beach and mountain lovers are nearly matched in enthusiasm. How this ranking is computed

Every duel won lifts a contender and every loss drops them, by an amount that depends on the opponent's strength: beating the leader is worth more than beating the last. It is an ELO, the same principle as in chess. Duels are not drawn at random — an adaptive entropy sort puts the least predictable match-ups first, which settles the ranking far faster than a full round robin. A worldwide ranking is only published past 30 completed plays. Known limit: a contender who has faced few opponents keeps an approximate score, and the bottom of the table moves more than the podium.
