Best Buffy the Vampire Slayer characters

Buffy Summers leads the Buffy the Vampire Slayer ranking with 1495 ELO points over 91 duels, ahead of Spike and Willow Rosenberg.

The Slayer herself dominates with authority, opening a 127 point gap over Spike in second place. That margin underscores Buffy's status as the heart of the show, though Spike's 1368 ELO and 71% win rate confirm his enduring appeal. Willow Rosenberg trails by just 4 points at 1364, making the battle for silver razor-thin. Further down, Rupert Giles holds fourth with 1267 points, while Alexander Harris rounds out the top five at 1233. At the opposite end, Riley Finn languishes at the bottom with 921 ELO and a 28% win rate, suggesting the fanbase remains unforgiving of Buffy's most divisive boyfriend. Andrew Wells fares only slightly better at 977 points, while Daniel Osbourne sits tenth with 1055.

How this ranking is computed

Every duel won lifts a contender and every loss drops them, by an amount that depends on the opponent's strength: beating the leader is worth more than beating the last. It is an ELO, the same principle as in chess. Duels are not drawn at random — an adaptive entropy sort puts the least predictable match-ups first, which settles the ranking far faster than a full round robin. A worldwide ranking is only published past 30 completed plays. Known limit: a contender who has faced few opponents keeps an approximate score, and the bottom of the table moves more than the podium.
