Best Game of Thrones houses

1535 duels later, Stark remains #1 in the Game of Thrones ranking with 1488 ELO points, holding off Targaryen in second place.

The North commands fierce loyalty: Stark dominates with a 167-point lead over Targaryen, the widest gap in the entire ranking. This margin reflects the enduring appeal of House Stark's honor-bound ethos, even as Targaryen sits comfortably in second with 1321 ELO points. The middle tier reveals unexpected preferences: Tyrell claims third with 1250 points, while the infamous Lannister lands in fifth at 1196 points despite their central role in the series. At the bottom, the ranking exposes the community's indifference to houses that remained on the periphery of Westeros politics. Greyjoy anchors the list at 1056 ELO points, barely trailing Arryn and Tully, all three struggling to win over voters who remember the Iron Islands' failed rebellions and the Vale's isolation more than any redeeming qualities.

This ranking draws from 1535 duels voted by 82 players across 9 Great Houses, updated on 11 October 2026. How this ranking is computed

Every duel won lifts a contender and every loss drops them, by an amount that depends on the opponent's strength: beating the leader is worth more than beating the last. It is an ELO, the same principle as in chess. Duels are not drawn at random — an adaptive entropy sort puts the least predictable match-ups first, which settles the ranking far faster than a full round robin. A worldwide ranking is only published past 30 completed plays. Known limit: a contender who has faced few opponents keeps an approximate score, and the bottom of the table moves more than the podium.
