Best Grey's Anatomy characters

312 duels later, Meredith Grey is still #1 in the Grey's Anatomy ranking, with Alex Karev close behind at 1241 ELO points.

Meredith Grey tops the podium with 1288 ELO points and a 58% win rate across 38 duels, while Alex Karev follows at 1241 points. Cristina Yang sits just behind in third place with 1238 points, but the sharpest divide appears between ranks 3 and 4: 93 ELO points separate Cristina Yang from Izzie Stevens, revealing a clear split within the MAGIC cohort. That gap suggests the community views the first three members as a tier above the rest. At the bottom, George O'Malley lands in fifth place with 1083 points and a 33% win rate, trailing far behind the leaders and confirming a ranking that mirrors the on-screen dynamics of ambition and skill.

How this ranking is computed

Every duel won lifts a contender and every loss drops them, by an amount that depends on the opponent's strength: beating the leader is worth more than beating the last. It is an ELO, the same principle as in chess. Duels are not drawn at random — an adaptive entropy sort puts the least predictable match-ups first, which settles the ranking far faster than a full round robin. A worldwide ranking is only published past 30 completed plays. Known limit: a contender who has faced few opponents keeps an approximate score, and the bottom of the table moves more than the podium.
