Best Vikings shieldmaidens

310 duels later, Lagertha dominates the Vikings shieldmaiden ranking with 1461 ELO points, while Torvi holds second place.

The top of the ranking reveals a commanding lead: Lagertha stands 301 ELO points ahead of Torvi, a gap that underscores her overwhelming dominance among voters. Lagertha wins 94% of her 18 duels, a win rate that leaves little doubt about her status as the community's favorite. The bottom half tells a different story. Þórunn sits in fourth place with 1035 ELO points and wins only 22% of her 18 duels, suggesting that while all four shieldmaidens have their supporters, opinions sharpen quickly when forced into direct comparisons. Astrid occupies third with 1152 points, just 8 points above Torvi, making the battle for the podium's lower steps far tighter than the race for first.

This ranking draws from 310 duels submitted by 70 players across 4 contenders, last updated on 11 October 2026. The structure of the vote reveals a clear hierarchy, but the margins between second, third and fourth remain narrow enough that further duels could still shuffle the order. Head to the Vikings TopList to cast your own votes and shift the standings: every duel weighs on the final ranking, and every matchup brings the community closer to a collective verdict on these warriors.

How this ranking is computed

Every duel won lifts a contender and every loss drops them, by an amount that depends on the opponent's strength: beating the leader is worth more than beating the last. It is an ELO, the same principle as in chess. Duels are not drawn at random — an adaptive entropy sort puts the least predictable match-ups first, which settles the ranking far faster than a full round robin. A worldwide ranking is only published past 30 completed plays. Known limit: a contender who has faced few opponents keeps an approximate score, and the bottom of the table moves more than the podium.
