Best Assassin's Creed characters

1022 duels later, Ezio remains #1 in the Assassin's Creed ranking with 1474 ELO points, Edward Kenway pursuing at 1340 and Altaïr at 1287.

Ezio dominates with a crushing 134-point lead over Edward Kenway, the largest gap in the ranking and a testament to the community's enduring preference for the Italian master assassin. The pirate-turned-assassin Edward Kenway holds second place at 1340 ELO after 190 duels, while Altaïr secures third with 1287 points following 200 encounters. Bayek trails closely at 1273, and Connor Kenway edges into fifth at 1240. The top reflects the community's attachment to the franchise's earlier entries, with Ezio winning 83% of his 146 duels and the original protagonist Altaïr still commanding respect. At the bottom, the more recent protagonists struggle to match their predecessors: Kassandra ranks ninth with 1114 ELO, Eivor tenth at 1049, and Alexios anchors the ranking at 969 points after 168 duels. The contrast suggests players favor the series' more traditional assassins over the RPG-era heroes, despite the latter's expanded gameplay.

How this ranking is computed

Every duel won lifts a contender and every loss drops them, by an amount that depends on the opponent's strength: beating the leader is worth more than beating the last. It is an ELO, the same principle as in chess. Duels are not drawn at random — an adaptive entropy sort puts the least predictable match-ups first, which settles the ranking far faster than a full round robin. A worldwide ranking is only published past 30 completed plays. Known limit: a contender who has faced few opponents keeps an approximate score, and the bottom of the table moves more than the podium.
