Best CS:GO heavy weapons

95 ELO points separate MAG-7 from Nova at the top of the CS:GO heavy weapon ranking, after 307 duels.

The MAG-7 dominates with 1311 ELO points and an 80% win rate across 10 duels, leaving Nova far behind at 1216. XM1014 rounds out the podium at 1185, while the Negev sits in fourth place with 1168 points despite competing in 12 duels. The gap between first and second is the ranking's widest by far, revealing a decisive preference for the MAG-7's close-range stopping power over other options. The Sawed-Off manages only a 25% win rate across 8 duels, landing in fifth at 1156 points. At the bottom, the M249 struggles with 1148 ELO, suggesting the community has little patience for heavy machine guns in competitive scenarios where mobility matters.

This ranking draws from 307 duels judged by 33 players across 6 heavy weapons, updated on 12 October 2026. The shotgun versus machine gun debate continues to split the CS:GO community. Whether you reload with buckshot or belt-fed rounds, cast your vote in the next duel and influence which heavy weapon claims the top spot in this ongoing battle for supremacy.

How this ranking is computed

Every duel won lifts a contender and every loss drops them, by an amount that depends on the opponent's strength: beating the leader is worth more than beating the last. It is an ELO, the same principle as in chess. Duels are not drawn at random — an adaptive entropy sort puts the least predictable match-ups first, which settles the ranking far faster than a full round robin. A worldwide ranking is only published past 30 completed plays. Known limit: a contender who has faced few opponents keeps an approximate score, and the bottom of the table moves more than the podium.
