Best Far Cry games

1200 duels later, Far Cry 3 is still #1 in the Far Cry ranking, with Far Cry Primal close behind.

Far Cry 3 dominates with 1457 ELO points and wins 83% of its duels, but the 108-point gap separating it from Far Cry Primal at rank 2 marks the sharpest divide in the entire ranking. Far Cry 5 sits at third place with 1325 points, while Far Cry 4 trails at fourth with 1248. The community places the prehistoric spin-off ahead of the mainline numbered entries that followed the original trilogy, a verdict that underscores the appetite for bold departures from formula. At the bottom, Far Cry Vengeance languishes at rank 11 with just 959 ELO points and a 20% win rate across 30 duels, a harsh assessment of the Wii port that few players defend.

This ranking draws on 1200 duels submitted by 50 players across 11 contenders, updated on 12 October 2026. The vote remains open: head to the Far Cry TopList to cast your own duels and shift the standings. Each matchup you judge feeds the algorithm and sharpens the community consensus on which entry best captures the chaos, the landscapes and the villains that define the series.

How this ranking is computed

Every duel won lifts a contender and every loss drops them, by an amount that depends on the opponent's strength: beating the leader is worth more than beating the last. It is an ELO, the same principle as in chess. Duels are not drawn at random — an adaptive entropy sort puts the least predictable match-ups first, which settles the ranking far faster than a full round robin. A worldwide ranking is only published past 30 completed plays. Known limit: a contender who has faced few opponents keeps an approximate score, and the bottom of the table moves more than the podium.
