Best God of War Ragnarök characters

Kratos leads the God of War Ragnarök character ranking with 1404 ELO points over 16 duels, ahead of Mimir and Sindri.

The Ghost of Sparta dominates with a commanding 139 ELO point lead over second-place Mimir, who sits at 1265 points. Sindri claims third with 1250 points, while Freya and Atreus round out the top 5 at 1214 and 1201 points respectively. Kratos wins an imposing 88% of his duels, signaling near-universal anticipation for the protagonist's return. The gap between first and second is by far the largest in the ranking, underlining the character's grip on the community's excitement. At the bottom, Durlin languishes at 1042 ELO with a 23% win rate over 13 duels, suggesting the dwarf smith left a more muted impression on players eager for Ragnarök.

This ranking draws on 590 duels cast by 29 players across 10 contenders, updated on 12 October 2026. The vote captures the community's hunger to revisit familiar faces and meet new ones in the Norse saga's next chapter. Whether you're eager to see Kratos wield the Leviathan Axe again or curious about the fates of Mimir, Freya and the dwarven brothers, cast your own duels and shape the ranking.

How this ranking is computed

Every duel won lifts a contender and every loss drops them, by an amount that depends on the opponent's strength: beating the leader is worth more than beating the last. It is an ELO, the same principle as in chess. Duels are not drawn at random — an adaptive entropy sort puts the least predictable match-ups first, which settles the ranking far faster than a full round robin. A worldwide ranking is only published past 30 completed plays. Known limit: a contender who has faced few opponents keeps an approximate score, and the bottom of the table moves more than the podium.
