Best Mario Kart 8 Deluxe karts

300 SL Roadster leads the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe ranking with 1295 ELO points over 127 duels, ahead of B Dasher and Gold Standard.

B Dasher and Gold Standard sit joint second with identical 1292 ELO scores, just 3 points behind the leader. The sharpest divide appears between third and fourth place, where 29 ELO points separate Gold Standard from Landship. This gap marks the clearest break in the top tier, with the podium vehicles establishing themselves as the community's preferred builds. At the bottom, Splat Buggy struggles at rank 23 with only 1057 ELO points and a 39% win rate across 143 duels, suggesting players find little appeal in its handling or stats. Mach 8 sits just above at rank 22 with 1119 ELO, while P-Wing rounds out the bottom three at 1145 ELO.

This ranking draws from 1770 duels contested by 21 players comparing all 23 karts available in the game. Updated on 12 October 2026, the data reflects which vehicles players genuinely favor when forced to choose between two options. The tight margins at the top and the clear separation below rank 3 reveal a competitive field with three standout choices. How this ranking is computed

Every duel won lifts a contender and every loss drops them, by an amount that depends on the opponent's strength: beating the leader is worth more than beating the last. It is an ELO, the same principle as in chess. Duels are not drawn at random — an adaptive entropy sort puts the least predictable match-ups first, which settles the ranking far faster than a full round robin. A worldwide ranking is only published past 30 completed plays. Known limit: a contender who has faced few opponents keeps an approximate score, and the bottom of the table moves more than the podium.
