Best Nintendo Switch Sports

Tennis leads the Nintendo Switch Sports ranking with 1271 ELO points over 23 duels, ahead of Badminton and Soccer.

The top three cluster tightly, but a sharp 35 ELO points separate Soccer in third place from Bowling at fourth. Tennis edges out Badminton by 11 points for the top spot, while Badminton actually posts a slightly higher win rate at 62 percent compared to Tennis's 61 percent. The tight ELO margins at the top suggest players are nearly split on their favorites, with classic racket sports commanding attention alongside the team dynamic of Soccer. Further down, Volleyball sits at fifth with 1203 points but struggles with a 43 percent win rate, hinting at polarized opinions. At the bottom, Chambara and Golf languish with win rates of 29 and 33 percent respectively, showing that sword dueling and leisurely putting fail to generate the same excitement as faster, more social sports.

This ranking draws from 700 duels contributed by 55 players across 7 contenders, updated on 12 October 2026. Whether you favor the precision of Tennis, the shuttlecock chaos of Badminton, or the cooperative teamwork of Soccer, your duels shape the standings. Cast your vote to push your favorite sport higher or challenge the consensus that has left Golf at the bottom.

How this ranking is computed

Every duel won lifts a contender and every loss drops them, by an amount that depends on the opponent's strength: beating the leader is worth more than beating the last. It is an ELO, the same principle as in chess. Duels are not drawn at random — an adaptive entropy sort puts the least predictable match-ups first, which settles the ranking far faster than a full round robin. A worldwide ranking is only published past 30 completed plays. Known limit: a contender who has faced few opponents keeps an approximate score, and the bottom of the table moves more than the podium.
