Best Shiny Pokémon

178 duels later, Mega Altaria is still #1 in the Pokémon Shiny ranking with 1337 ELO points, with another Mega Altaria close behind at 1313.

The top two positions both belong to Mega Altaria, separated by 24 ELO points, yet the sharpest gap sits between rank 2 and rank 3: 88 points divide the second Mega Altaria from Altaria. The #1 Mega Altaria wins 68% of its duels across 57 matchups, while its twin at rank 2 secures 54% over 76 duels. Altaria claims the third and fourth spots with 1225 and 1184 ELO respectively, both winning 54% of their encounters. This dominance of Mega Altaria variants at the top reveals a clear community preference for the evolved forms over their base counterparts. Swablu anchors the ranking in fifth and sixth place, with the bottom entry posting 1032 ELO and a 33% win rate over 70 duels. The 152 point gap between the top ranked Mega Altaria and the lowest Swablu underscores how the evolution line's Shiny variants provoke divided opinions based on form.

How this ranking is computed

Every duel won lifts a contender and every loss drops them, by an amount that depends on the opponent's strength: beating the leader is worth more than beating the last. It is an ELO, the same principle as in chess. Duels are not drawn at random — an adaptive entropy sort puts the least predictable match-ups first, which settles the ranking far faster than a full round robin. A worldwide ranking is only published past 30 completed plays. Known limit: a contender who has faced few opponents keeps an approximate score, and the bottom of the table moves more than the podium.
