The Seabound Soul leads the Sea of Thieves Tall Tale ranking with 1296 ELO points over 15 duels, ahead of Captains of the Damned – A Pirate's Life and Maiden Voyage.

The Seabound Soul wins 80% of its duels and stands 9 points ahead of Captains of the Damned – A Pirate's Life at rank 2. The sharpest divide in the podium sits between Captains of the Damned – A Pirate's Life and Maiden Voyage, separated by 26 ELO points. Two Shores of Gold chapters crack the top 5 with The Fate of the Morningstar at rank 4 and Revenge of the Morningstar at rank 5, both earning 1244 and 1239 ELO respectively. At the bottom, Heart of Fire settles at rank 17 with 1094 ELO, trailing Stars of a Thief and The Cursed Rogue. The lower positions suggest the community favors narrative-driven expansions and standalone adventures over some of the original campaign chapters.

How this ranking is computed

Every duel won lifts a contender and every loss drops them, by an amount that depends on the opponent's strength: beating the leader is worth more than beating the last. It is an ELO, the same principle as in chess. Duels are not drawn at random — an adaptive entropy sort puts the least predictable match-ups first, which settles the ranking far faster than a full round robin. A worldwide ranking is only published past 30 completed plays. Known limit: a contender who has faced few opponents keeps an approximate score, and the bottom of the table moves more than the podium.
