Best World of Warcraft classes

Mage wins 53% of its duels and tops the World of Warcraft ranking ahead of Paladin, which sits at 1286 ELO points.

The podium reveals a tight race at the top, with only 5 ELO points separating Mage from Paladin. But the sharpest divide lies between ranks 3 and 4: Hunter drops off by 31 points to Druid, the widest gap in the entire ranking. Paladin claims the highest win rate at 59%, despite trailing Mage by those 5 points. Hunter follows at 1259 ELO with a 57% win rate over 471 duels, while Druid manages just 50% across 511 encounters. Warlock rounds out the top 5 at 1212 ELO with a 49% win rate. At the bottom, Warrior and Monk share last place at 1125 ELO, though Warrior's 49% win rate suggests a more balanced track record than Monk's 41%. Priest sits just above them at 1138 ELO.

How this ranking is computed

Every duel won lifts a contender and every loss drops them, by an amount that depends on the opponent's strength: beating the leader is worth more than beating the last. It is an ELO, the same principle as in chess. Duels are not drawn at random — an adaptive entropy sort puts the least predictable match-ups first, which settles the ranking far faster than a full round robin. A worldwide ranking is only published past 30 completed plays. Known limit: a contender who has faced few opponents keeps an approximate score, and the bottom of the table moves more than the podium.
